Customs information relating to Brexit

Brexit came into force on the night to January 1, 2021. As a result, customs duties will apply to all trade with the UK.

Until then, it is possible to import from and export to the UK as before. We recommend that you prepare yourself and your business as well as possible. For example, you can already check that you have sent a customs handling authorization to your customs agent and ensure that you have applied for a UK and a Swedish EORI number. Application is made at the UK’s HM Revenue and Customs department and Swedish Customs.

Temporary stop for Pallets to UK

The import customs clearance process together with the British Customs has not yet been fully developed to receive pallets from Sweden.

Read about preparations at the website of the Swedish Customs Agency.

If you have any questions about PostNord’s processes and customs procedures in the context of Brexit, please contact our customer service via phone 0771-33 33 10 or email.

How does Brexit affect you as a private individual?

On January 1 2021, the United Kingdom left the EU. This means that when you receive or shop online from the UK, you must pay VAT and any customs duties before the goods can be delivered. Read more about customs and VAT from countries outside the EU.
